Our Process


Custom Dressmaking With Us

Each custom dress is handcrafted & tailored to the specific measurements of each client. The prices quoted encompass our making of your dress, pattern making, & sourcing high-quality fabrics and materials.

To Properly Acquire Our Service:

  1. Submit an inquiry for your dress here on our website.
  2. Accept your quote &/or follow instructions on your quote sent via email.
  3. Schedule your Virtual Consultation.

Consultations:

Your experience begins with a Virtual Consultation with Head Designer Toi Arnold, where we’ll discuss your style, design preferences, costs, fabric options, and plan your 1st In-Person Fitting. This session secures your spot with us. Consultations are conducted via video calls, links are sent via email and the non-refundable fee can be applied to your dress. If you choose not to proceed with our services, the fee will not be refunded.

Payment:

For dresses quoted at $585.00 and below, full payment is required during the first fitting.

For dresses exceeding $585.00, a non-refundable cash payment of 70% of the total dress cost is required at your First Fitting. The remaining non-refundable 30% cash payment will be due at the fitting just prior to final pickup. This is the sole payment arrangement available for this service.

Fittings

There are 2-4 fittings, depending on the design, held either In-Person or Virtual for Out-of-State Clients.
In-Person Fittings are By Appointment Only at 530 Euclid Ave Suite 19, Cleveland, Ohio 44115 inside of 5th Street Arcades Downtown Cleveland. Please allow time prior to your scheduled fitting to find designated street parking.

For your fitting, please arrive at your scheduled fitting time, we recommend wearing fitted clothing and appropriate undergarments. You may bring up to two guests to accompany you. 

    The fitting schedule consists of:

    1st Fitting: Measurements taken, design discussion, and non-refundable 70% payment due in cash. | 2nd Fitting: Try on your base dress (unfinished) to assess fit and note necessary alterations; the remaining non-refundable 30% payment is due in cash. | 3rd Fitting/Dress Pickup: Try on your completed dress, sign the garment release form, and take your dress. If alterations are needed, they will be completed at this fitting if time allows; otherwise, another final fitting will be scheduled.

    4 Fittings include:

    1st Fitting: Measurements taken, design discussion, and non-refundable 70% payment due in cash. | 2nd Fitting: Mock fitting with a muslin dress replicating your dress silhouette; fabric and appliques are reviewed if available. | 3rd Fitting: Try on your base dress (unfinished) to assess fit and note necessary alterations; and pay remaining 30% in cash. | 4th Fitting/Dress Pickup: Try on your completed dress, sign the release form, and take your dress. If alterations are needed, they will be completed at this fitting if time allows; otherwise, another final fitting will be scheduled.

    After the first fitting, materials will be ordered. Two 3"x3" fabric swatches will be provided once your fabric arrives.

    Ref. Design Changes:

    During your initial fitting, we verify your design and address any modifications you'd like to implement. Depending on the nature of the change, a revised quote may be required, which must be signed, approved, and paid for at that time. Once the first fitting is completed, production will commence, and no adjustments can be made to color, fabric, style, silhouette, appliqués, or rhinestone placement.

    Ref. Add-ons: If our schedule allows, any modifications or additions to your design that were not previously agreed upon will incur additional charges, payable immediately.

    Fitting Scheduling:

    Only schedule fittings as instructed to prevent cancellations. Our scheduling link shows all available times. New availability added at the end of each month.

    Cancelling/Rescheduling Fittings:

    To cancel or reschedule, please text or email us asap or 24-48 hours in advance. Rescheduling instructions will be provided. First fittings can be rescheduled once; further changes may need a new quote. Same-day rescheduling is not available and may incur rush fees.

    Arrival Policy: Arriving 15 minutes late or more necessitates rescheduling, as we cannot accommodate late arrivals with other fittings scheduled. No-shows to the first fitting will result in forfeiting your status as a client; subsequent no-shows incur a fee.

    Cancellation/Refund Policy: No refunds are offered for any payments made to So Toi LLC. Custom garments are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and cancellations for any reason will not result in a refund.

    All payments are non-refundable, with no returns, refunds, or exchanges for design services.

    Turnaround Times & Cost: The cost of your dress is provided via quote sent to your email following your inquiry or consultation. When we accept your booking, we agree to complete your dress by the specified time needed.

    • Our Bespoke Prom Dresses starting cost is $1,600.00, Bespoke Corset Prom Dresses starting cost is $3,000.00, production can take 16-24 weeks depending on the design. Garments needed in a shorter amount of time are subject to a 10%-15% rush fee depending on when needed. Inquire: Prom With So Toi
    • Our Bespoke Dresses for Special Occasions such as birthdays, photoshoots, etc. starting cost $500.00, production can take 4 to 8 weeks depending on the design.     • Our Bespoke Bridal Gowns starting cost is $3,500.00, production can take 6 to 12 months depending on the design. Garments needed in a shorter amount of time are subject to a 10%-15% rush fee depending on when needed. Inquire:
